Yahoo Traffic

I have several keywords ranked on top 5 at yahoo. But I hardly get 50+ visits from Yahoo in total. For the same keywords I get 400+ from Google. Anyway to improve this scenario?
Thanks for any suggestion.

That sounds about the right ratio between the two. Nothing you can really do about it, Google search just has far more users than Yahoo search.

Are your keywords holding the same spots ( top 5 ) in Google too? If that's true, as said before, that's about right if you analized the two search engines based on their market share.

As Sensei said; google is king, go for google and whatever you may get from yahoo and msn is just a LITTLE bonus.

Funny thing as I would say, traffic from Yahoo increased almost doubled after a few days I posted this thread.
Its really hard to predict the Yahoo behavior.

Hmmm i only see my sites way down when we were 1st for over a year. Where we had around 10k visits a week in yahoo since this happened last week it has dropped to 1k, all of the competetive terms we were 1st for have dropped below 40-50, i just cant tell if its this hijack i mention in a previous thread i posted or yahoo have snapped and are letting every spam site into the listings as possible.

Yahoo could be such a great search engine. It had better chance then Google.

You guys at least get some traffic from Yahoo. In Europe Yahoo's market share is below 5% in many countries. In Spain Google has 96% market share, in England 90%, in Germany 91-92%... people just don't care about optimising for Yahoo... not to mention MSN!

My keywords got positions in yahoo. But still not in MSN. What can I do? How can I get good positions in search engines? I did not get more keyword positions in google and yahoo, only limited.

Please give me some idea to get position in MSN for "SEO"

Thumbs up

To get better position in Yahoo, repeat your keywords within description in title and META tags. Still yahoo gives much importance for title and META tags. After implementing the optimized tag, submit the website in yahoo site explorer and yahoo will crawl your new website information soon.

While to get top position in google search results, repeat the keywords in header tags and repeat atleast 4-5 at the beginning of the content. If possible start the content with most important keyword. Submit your website information in PR 5 and above directories. So it will crawl immediately.

The site is not in bad position in yahoo, it is within top 5.The main problem is the site is not getting enough visitors from yahoo.I don't think both yahoo and msn are not very useful for give good amount of traffic.
May be I wrong, but this is my personal experience.

The things you are suggesting, known as keyword stuffing or in other word spamming and Google hates spamming.

Cool

Actually, I suggested to repeat the keywords within the content and if possible one in header or at beginning of the content.

Go through "andyslinens" site, search with keyword + "bedding". The site is listing in top 10. They keep on repeating "bedding" keyword within the site. Check it. Sometimes, I get confused by google program.

Putting your targeted keyword unwantedly anywhere in the site consider as SPAMMING.
Write content, header, title etc. as per requirement.
Don't try to stuff keywords there.
