Yahoo to add more content to search results

Quote:
SEATTLE, Washington (Reuters) -- Internet media company Yahoo Inc. said on Tuesday that it would enhance its search services by tapping into richer content such as audio, video and reference information.

Yahoo, which is beefing up its search services to compete against Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp.'s MSN Internet division, said in February that it was starting to make a switch to its own Web search technology.

Interestingly, even the SERPs at Yahoo also seem to suggest that they like more of content !!???(keywords, I mean). Most high-ranking pages have an overall keyword density of about 10%. However, keyword density doesn't seem to be the only factor. Link text coupled with good keyword density seems to be trick.

In fact, they are taking great pains to make a point that they have developed a very original and unique algo. (though I believe they've just tweaked the Google algo a bit).
