Yahoo! SiteMatch?

HELLO EVERYONE..

So I have read alot about SiteMatch on these forums and also on Overture/Yahoo.

I am curious about a few things.

SiteMatch according to what I've read on the SEOCHAT Forums, will not take preference over unpaid listings on the results pages. If this is the case, what on earth are you paying for?

It would make sense to me that if you opted for SiteMatch, and had a optimized site with lots of good quality themed backlinks, that your site should come up every time your keywords are entered. If this is not the case, what does SiteMatch do?

Thanks!

gets pages into the index that might not otherwise have gotten into the index and gets them crawled more often.

OK DONNA..

But this makes no sense to me.
WHy would anyone who knows how to SEO actually opt for this service then?

So you get refreshed every 48 hrs? So does this increase the probability of your site being ranked for the keywords you are targeting?

If it gets pages that might not otherwise be there, wouldn't that in turn mean u would be ranked higher or at least have a greater chance to be ranked if your site is SEO'd properly?

Possibly. What it does mean is that any changes you make, you can see the results of much sooner than if you were refreshed every 6-8 weeks.

Some urls may be difficult to get into the index due to various factors, such as products deep within a site, etc. So paying would be a way to get those into the index. So in that way, yes, if it means the difference between being indexed and not being indexed, then you certainly at least get the chance of being ranked if you are indexed. No chance of ranking if you aren't indexed.

Basically, SiteMatch seems to be a good option for certain people, and a costly not-so-good option for others. Personally, I have no need for it. Would be a waste of money for me. But for others, it might be cost-effective.

I think, even tho SiteMatch sites may not get priority rankings, that ultimately if you have a high content site, you will get higher rankings anyways.

If you have a site that you regularly update with news, or articles. You may actually be adding a page or two a day.

In the SiteMatch case, these pages will be continuously added, while a regular listing could possibly be a hundred pages behind, since it is so long before re-indexing.

Whether it is worth 15-30 cents a click thru, really is another story. I am still curious to see if your site will be indexed twice, if you already have a listing, and then decide to do SiteMatch as well.

Hope this makes sense?
