Yahoo! Search Index Update

Hi,

Recently last week yahoo updated its search index and therefore people have seen some changes in ranking and indexing of their sites.

Acoording to Priyank Garg & Sharad Verma from Yahoo search-"Over the next few days, we'll be rolling out some changes to our crawling, indexing and ranking algorithms. While we expect the update will be completed soon, as you know, throughout this process you may see some ranking changes and page shuffling in the index.

Also, some of you pointed out some issues with Deleting URLs in Site Explorer a few days ago. This has now been addressed and your Deletes should continue to work on Site Explorer."

With this update Yahoo! has set out to prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that it an "inferior" engine!

My niche site that occupies first place in Google and first and second place (indented) in MSN has been pushed to second page.

To add insult to injury the first page is filled with huge irrelevant sites that have a 50-100 word page on the subject...

We noticed this as well, the results are all over the place with lots of meaningless sites appearing out of the blue. It seems to have reverted back as of this morning.
