Yahoo Rankings

Hi! SEO Expert. I wanna ask if there's a change in algorithm of Yahoo. Before I thought that Yahoo gives more importance to content but now I'm thinking if stills work on my site. The sites is rich in content but I don't know what happens. Some of my targeted keywords has good rankings in google and MSN but in Yahoo out of 10 keywords I only see 2 keywords that has rankings in top 100 of Yahoo. Any suggestion or reaction are welcome.

Thanks

Are you sure your onpage are OK?
Check out them again.

Yahoo is pretty tight on the accuracy of onpage issues.

Could you post your website here?

Otherwise I would say as many times were said: Links, links, links!

I agree with the above, it could be possible that your Yahoo! IBLs are lower than MSN or Google. Have you check the # of inbound links to your site on Google and Yahoo!

Care to share the domain and keywords?

The number is not important, the quality is what makes difference.

You cannot compare the backlinks in google with yahoo's and say, because yahoo is showing less backlinks, your site is worse in Yahoo.

Because of two reasons:
1. Yahoo and google are not showing all of the links they know about.
2. how do you know which links they count which not, which links get higher weight and which less?

You don't really know, your are correct in pointing that out, if we could find out the magic formula this whole linking business would be a lot easier.

I was just trying to point the user in a particular direction to help him solve his issue. I guess I should have said " it could be possible that your Yahoo! IBLs are a lower quality than what MSN or Google interpret"

My general point was that if he has 5,000 Google IBL's and 500 Yahoo! IBL's then that's probably why his rankings are off. It's a start, you know?

If he finds the numbers are somewhat similar then he could begin investigating the quality side of his IBL's.

BTW, I want to also mention Google webmaster tools gives you a fairly accurate list of your IBLs. So this can help you in many more ways than the typical backlink checker you can do from a search box.

I notice that my competitors on my targeted keywords rank in the first page of yahoo are ads. Does it mean that yahoo gives more priority to ads. When I check yahoo rankings it seems that my ads has a better ranking than my site.

No relation between ads and SERPs. Anything you see is only a coincidence.

Real factors? What is that? I know some factors...the same as for google.

If your site is good in google but not in yahoo, I would check your onpage optimization. Also, go for backlinks from those sites which ranks better than you. This tactic amazingly helps in yahoo.

I already know the reason on why I can't see good rankings in yahoo in my targeted keywords. I notice that the page is not cached.

If the page is not cached, it is not that you have not good rankings, in that case you don't have any rankings.

What I'm trying to say is that the inner page is not cached. That's why I don't have rankings for my targeted keywords on that specific inner page of my site.

Then get quality related links to the internal pages. Simple!
