Google and yahoo both give the attention to on and off page Yahoo give attention to on page to writing meta tags good content continue after some time get PR.

it's really hard to get high rankings on yahoo, but one thing i noticed is that, sites on the top pages of yahoo are the sites having fresh contents...i dunno, that's just a meer observation...

can anyone please explain what are on page and off page activities and factors?
