Yahoo mirrow site penalty
i am pretty certain yahoo is banning (no rank, still in index) mirrow sites .... i have seen a few dissappear .... here is my question ....
does anyone have a way to know if they are doing that by way of human review or if it is being done by robot site content comparison analysis ??? i know google has robot technology to identify mirrow sites and they just show the one with the higher page rank ... not dump both like yahoo is doing .... i am wondering if anyone dealing with this problem has had someone from yahoo make any off hand remark to indicate if the cause was human review or robot anlaysis ... thanks

mirrow - is that a form of minnow? a minnow is a small fish. would a mirrow be a small website? sorry, had to poke fun. i'm in a poking-fun kind of mood tonight.
don't know the answer to your question though.

When people talk about "mirror" sites, do they mean EXACT copies of the same content on two different sites?
I take a lot of content and "wrap" it on our site. I have permission from the publisher to do this and I am not trying to "fool" the search engines. I do it because I think it looks better than framing or linking out. But, is this something that is borderline unethical or could lead to a banning from a search engine? 2 examples: Source URL Example 1: http://realtytimes.com/rtcustom/adv...&ID=generic.htm My URL: http://www.equitysafeteam.com/articles&type=buying Source URL Example 2: http://realtytimes.com/rtnews/rtcus...&ID=generic.htm My URL: http://www.equitysafeteam.com/page....les&type=buying Last edited by nmalhot : April 2nd, 2004 at 01:33 AM. |
