Question Yahoo Member Directory Search Problems

From my Yahoo profile, when I select an interest category to browse, a
one-page list of member profile links in that category is displayed. When I click on
any profile link listed, I encounter no unexpected problems accessing any of the
individual profiles in the list. However, when I try to browse further within the category
by clicking on any of the member directory category lists (e.g., 13-18, 35-50,
Online now, etc.), no member profile list is generated. I am experiencing this with all
Yahoo Groups and all group interests. I did not experience this problem until after
I added trial versions of Spy Sweeper and Window Washer. I do not see any user
options within these programs that address this problem. I run Windows XP
Professional. I will appreciate any help. Thanks.

Yahoo Problem

I am also having the same problem, 0 results.

I went to a chatroom on Yahoo and got someone to do the exact same search and he got the normal results

I wonder if its anything to do with our (as in the people getting this problem) location? Maybe the server we connect to at Yahoo is down or something?

Im in Scotland, where is everyone else?

I'll make more enquiries and post result here. If anyone else has any joy please do the same.

Thanks

Dale

Also I installed a couple of Windows updates in the past few days, has anyone else done the same? Might that be the problem?

member directory still down !

not only is the yahoo member directory down for 3 weeks, but you cant search from it on your Yahoo Profile at the top where it says search members by interests. When you type in an interest it just brings you back to your own yahoo profile.

They screwed everything up with the new look on the yahoo profiles, and they cant fix it for some reason after 3 weeks. The good old fun yahoo days are gone.

trouble with yahoo member search

Hey All,

I tried the new version of yahoo mail, and hated it... if i wanted to use outlook express, i would... and that is exactly what it looks like to me. I hope they get the member directory fixed soon, as i use it to find women who contact me from various dateing sites, and right now, it doesn't work at all. There was a day or two, a couple weeks before it went totaly down, that it was not even accessable, and i went thru hell, thinking i had downloaded a viral problem.... even went so far as to start from zero, re-formatt and all... to only now find out they we're screwing with the site.... i am piised off to say the least. Better luck to everyone else.

Here is the answer folks

I have the answert to the yahoo member directory problem....

It seems yayhoe figured out that people were useing the directory, to find people who are on thier personals site....ergo, it was in there best intrest to shut down the American search engine.... B U T... the Asin one, is alive and well..... you just have to hit the drop down menue for,"GLOBAL", search... the link below, is for the advanced search page... good luck all, in our search for people...

P.S.... I tried to post the link, and they apperantly don't allow that on here....SOooo... here is how i found it.... on GOOGLE , i searched for...yahoo member directory, asia and it came up as the second link down.... again, good luck all.

P.S.S. Thanks to all those who IM'd me, to ask for any further info..... now lets go gitter done! ! !

i've had the same problem with y-hoo's member directoy-0 results in any catagory! i contacted y-hoo help and all they say is their "engineers" are aware of it and are working on it. maybe if they get enough complaints about it, they might actually do something. but at least there is one good thing about this, at least i'm not the only one having the same problem, and i was beginning to think there was a problem with this old computer of mine.
