Yahoo Indexing Question

Over the past three days Yahoo has indexed about 300 pages on my site but when I use siteyz in the yahoo search it is only showing 6 links. Do you know how long it takes Yahoo to update indexed pages.

It really seems to vary how long it takes from my experience. I have seen it take as few as a couple of days and as many as three weeks. Seems like it is always a guessing game. I used to try and guess when the next indexing would come and structure my site updates to that but I gave up trying. There may be a pattern to it but I decided to just worry about my sites and let the search engines worry about indexing etc.

I think you are not talking about crawling frequency here...

AS you told Y! had indexed your 300pages in past three days....and while using site: command i.e. Site Explorer you got 6 links... --> Here one question arise how you found Yahoo had index your 300 pages.... that means you have use site command before and found that 300 pages are index.....

If website is index in Yahoo it will not take longer period to update and it will shown you soon.... Be patience.....

Do you have site map? Yahoo is slowly indexing the site but if it's well optimized and when it is already indexed it can get higher ranking quickly.

Yahoo is indexing

I have Joomla Stats and can see that the yahoo bot is indexing my pages... The problem is it's been about a week and I think that all of my pages have been crawled but yet only 6 show up in the index. I am curious as to the time that the site updates and includes my pages after being crawled.

This is an example from one day:

Pages Crawled
417 Yahoo from June 8th

Does Yahoo always show up as one page at a time in Joomla Stats... all other bots crawl multiple pages per visit. I appreciate your help.

I've had it take anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks between the first crawl and when the pages show up in the index. It seems like Yahoo isn't very consistent about this.

I do not sure how many days Y! takes to update their database. But, if you had submitted your URL, and create a sitemap. Your site would possibly get indexed soon. Be patient.

Try the site:www[dot]domainname[dot]com in Yahoo! You would getting know how many pages was indexed. Sometimes the Joomla what what... get the wrong answer. :
