Yahoo Directory Submit

Does anyone here recommend submitting my site to yahoo's directory. It isn't cheap ... just wondering if there will be a major boost in my ranking on yahoo.

Could this help PR ?

Free Powerpoint Templates website under Yahoo! Directory

Hi,

I am wondering if Yahoo! Directory worth or not. I have a website that receives about 1500 unique visits per day, about 7000 pageviews per day.

In terms of money, I understand Y! Directory cost under $1 per day (annual fee of $299). So, I want to know your experience about how much traffic you received since you was added to that directory.

Another question is regarding to be accepted or not. I read their Terms & Conditions and they say that submission is not guaranteed. What specifically means this? I am scary to pay there if they will not guarantee the submission... :s

Any thought will be appreciated.

I personally think the link is worth it. You may not get a ton of traffic directly from the directory itself, however you can gain search engine authority by a having a quality link from Yahoo.

Powerpoint

Hi, thank you all for the response.

I am evaluating if investing $299 in Yahoo! Directory. After reading forums and your recommendations I think I will go ahead.

I am concerned now about their notice that the submission is not guaranteed. Anyone has a problem by submitting a URL to Yahoo?
(I am not aim to promote my website here, but it is related to powerpoint templates), I am concerned how strict is Yahoo about the sites that users submit. Did you have any problem submitting links to Yahoo! dir?

Thanks.

Care to explain how this actually helps when the links from Yahoo Groups are nofollow'd?

with the new bing-yahoo deal going through, i assume, within the next year or so, i wonder what the status and fate of the yahoo directory is going to be - has anyone read much about that part of things. the whole uncertainty of the situation with deal would make me hesitant to invest that kind of money in the directory listing at this point.

personaly though if the cost isn't a burden, i do think that Nickfb makes a good point about gaining search engine 'authority' by having a link in the yahoo directory, that much is true and valuable.

Nickfb76 disagrees: You dont buy the listing for the traffic it sends... its all about the site authority.

Yeah I've been debating this for a while ... $299 is quite a lot of coin. There are other sites like joeant that also charge .. is this a normal thing for seo pro's to buy links ?

How about we do things this way, we could spend $299 for yahoo directory, and meanwhile, also try to find some Well maintained and High Traffic directories to submit. Then, maybe you could maxmize your benefits IMO.
