Haven't heard that there is a software that checks spam words before.. anyway spam words can easily be track-- through redundancy and inadequate used of keywords.

Any word that is repeated "more than what is needed" in a document can be termed as a "spam" word.

Ohh Yahoo - you can get away with SPAM on it

words being repeated don't necessarily mean spam!

for example you have have an ecommerce site that sells football jerseys, football balls, and football gear. so the word football is going to be repeated over and over again in your site and google and yahoo understand that and won't consider it spam!

if your words are used in good contexts, rather than being used only for SEO, you should be fine!

When you put on excessive keywords to a web page that are not necessary to be there is considered as spamming. It is used to manipulate rankings and to trick spiders that a page is 'quality' enough.

Ummm for some reason I don't think this question is about keyword repetition.

Ritesh K jha - could you please explain in detail what you mean?

"Spam words" could mean lots of things, but most likely "words or terms that most people associate with spam -- and which one would like to avoid having on one's webpages, even if the use of those words there were legitimate and safe"

If that is what you mean, then please expect a lot of "SEO myths" to be coughed up here
