SlurpConfirm404.htm

what is this?
Why it is looking for such a page in our site as there is no page in that name.

A Slurp check for 404 results from a web server consists of requests for up to 10 such URLs. The check for 404 behavior is not a normal part of Slurp site refresh, so such requests will be rare.

What would be the best thing for Yahoo to see in a 404 case?

a blank 404 or a 404 with a 302 redirect to the home page?

I find that when working with the search engines and product catalogs, that they are ill prepaired to recieve the updates in a timely manor. As a result of removing one of the products no longer available I get tons of 404's and don't want to scare slurp off with the wrong kind of 404.

Any suggestions?
