Should I not focus energy on Yahoo SEO right now?

Bing and Yahoo will merge probably sometime around March 2010 (Please correct me if this is not the case). Is there any point to expending energy on boosting your rank on Yahoo when the search engine will theoretically be dismantled in four months?

We focus on Google and other search engines still reward us. If you are doing things properly for Google the other search engines normally treat you well..

I totally agree with Egol with a minor caveat... If you MUST also focus on either Yahoo or Bing (cause your boss, wife, kids are forcing you )... I would choose Bing primarily because all of Yahoo's SERP results in the not too distant future will be be bases upon Bing's algo.

Bottomline: Choose Bing

Thats mostly correct but when I compare search results it seems that Google and Bing show some common results but yahoo is all together different.
