Exclamation No Indexed Pages in Yahoo?!!!

I'm currently doing SEO on a major site that has almost 20K unique visitors a day. The site has been optimized before it came to me and as I checked its indexed pages here's what I found out.

1) Google: 58,500
2) MSN: 904

and

3) Yahoo: 0

How could this happen. No indexed pages in Yahoo?!!! Impossible! SEO gurus out there, please help!!!

I'm not pretty sure if I can post the url. It's an OEM car parts distributor site and everything's well with it. I mean no "black hat" tricks being used. It's just that its not indexed in yahoo. I've tried link domain and it shows as URL not found. Hmmm...

Post your url in text format if you won't post it in live link, so that we can also see what's the problem.

Okay, the site is at thepartsbin.com, Yahoo Slurp isn't crawling the site. I now have my programmers check if the the bot is blocked.

I too have a site that has some sort of Yahoo Penalty

I optimize many sites... but one site for some reason has incurred some type of yahoo penalty. The index page of the site is indexed... but the other 1500 pages are not. And not even the homepage ranks for the name of the site! I've made a request for reinclusion via yahoo webmaster tools... but I'm still waiting.

BGreen, have you received any notification of any sort that your site actually got a penalty?

Hello

1) Do you have a sitemap(urllist.txt file)?
2) If you do. Did you submit it to yahoo ?

Another thing: your title is to long, you should try to compress it...

good luck

I wouldn't lose me hair over this if I were you. Yahoo is notorious for being slow to update its database.

I've also noticed lately that Yahoo keeps on going down (cannot access it)... Maybe this happens because I'm in Thailand (where server crashes are commonplace, much to my dismay!) but other sites don't seem to have this problem quite as often. Anyone else been noticing this?

I have always found Yahoo to be strange in this respect.

I have dozens of my own sites and dozens of customer sites and they all appear in Yahoo except for one domain... my biggest one

It has over 30,000 pages indexed by Google, nearly 15,000 backlinks listed in Yahoo (including several thousand "deep links"), is over 6 years old, has many major #1 and top ten listings in Google for many very competitive keywords (including a sitelink for the domain name), is engineered correctly (no silly errors with robots.txt/htaccess blocks etc)

I submitted it to Yahoo numerous times and - eventually - I contacted them about it... They replied saying that there was no reason for it's exclusion and that it had been added to their "submissions list" but - after 6 weeks - they only indexed the home page (and even that only comes in at #10 for the domain name after some of my link partners who rank higher with my anchor text)

Eventually I gave up worrying about it!

You must not have uploaded the URLLIST.txt map and please make sure to submit your site to Yahoo! through Yahoo! explorer to get your site indexed.

Despite the fact that your sites are listed in DMOZ, you'll have to submit your site to Yahoo! manually.
