Just an FYI, vB allows you to create an announcement that will be presented in every forum, saving you time by not making you copy and paste a new thread in every forum.

Plus, then it saves me a little time not having wade through all the duplicate threads when I check for new posts.

Hope that helps.

I see a yellow glow around the name, so I would guess it's someone who has some authority on the site.

But I'm not sure it should matter who it is - I thought the advice was valid and not written in a confrontational way, pointing out something that person may not be aware of.

Was it out of line?

No, it probably was not. ahira17 is one of the admins here, but your statement was polite, to the point and useful. And I'm sure that they don't mind a good (vB) tip now and again, even if they choose not to use it*. There are some really good vB gurus active here (Nintendo is one) and remember that this is SEOChat, one of the most tolerant forums around. That's why we love it, right?

*there are examples hehe.

Nope... not out of line. Admins and mods can and should learn also. That is primarily why I am here is to learn. I mod only because I can assist in keeping our environment a learning one (fun too).

Regardless of a persons status it is good to always give advice. How do you think the person got that status (admin)...by learning...he doesn't know everything...LOL...

Our site has completely vanished from yahoo SERPs since the switch.
A search for "www.mysite.com" returns nothing... however a search for "mysite.com" returns several listings under an old subdomain no longer in use - since replaced by a redirect.

In short, "www.oldsubdomain.mysite.com" is indexed, however "www.mysite.com" is not.

"www.mysite.com" has plenty of links pointing to it from other indexed sites

Tell me anybody how can i re-index my site in yahoo
