Link to competitor?

I need to Get from 14 to at most #10.
The only sites that are relevant to my website are basically competing for the same rankings. Wikipedia is one of them, would linking to wikipedia hurt? It would be useful to my visitors.
Please help.

No. Good option rather than copying the content from wiki and just posting it in your site.

If you are referring to SERP - focus more on building backlinks.

I agree to MrCat. Since you want to SERP ranking to rank high, then you must focus on link building.

Hi,

I would like to suggest that build links with your related quality sites

But dnt link with competitor coz
when linking to a competitor you're essentially recommending their site... Both to the search engines and your visitors. IMO, that's the biggest drawback.

Here's what I would do....

Write an article that puts wikipedia's article to SHAME. Make your's TEN TIMES BETTER. Then mine the links of the wiki article.
