All i can say is that Yahoo and Google might not have the same seo techniques, but if you use same techniques as Google for Yahoo, it has to work.

FYI 80%+ of all searches are through Google. Focus on Google and you will likely still do well with Bing/Yahoo. Your greatest return is to stay focused on SERP positions within Google, i.e. somewhat let Yahoo/Bing take care of itself.

No, they have different approach on SEO techniques because they have different algorithms. But the rule they follow is they depend on link juices and traffic, but the algorithm there varies.

Since Google garners the lion's share of search traffic I optimize for them, but that has not stopped me from ranking first for some keywords on Bing and Yahoo!.

The bottom line is what's great for Google is usually good for Bing/Yahoo!.

Not to sure why this is beaten to death. Common sense prevails. The algorithm for Google is more sophisticate than Yahoo and Bing. Google is the primary search engine and that should be the focus, however, for yahoo and bing, they do not care if you throw up thousands of links, but Google will, and you will see your rankings tank.

With that said, think about it at least a minute. Search engine placement is different in comparison to search engine technology.

Yahoo favors some old tags whereas G is very strict. For example keywords tag is obsolete with G but still acceptable by Y. Even ordinary directory links are counted by Yahoo but not with Google.

One thing that I'd suggest is to search link partners at Yahoo search and try to link with as many as possible.
