Invisible on Yahoo...

My site has great rankings on Google & MSN, but it is basically invisible on Yahoo for the same keywords.

Does this have to do with their directory?

If so, is it worth the $300 to be in the Yahoo directory?

Thanks!

I have never paid for a directory inclusion in Yahoo but rank very well there. According to Yahoo... paying to be in their directory has zero effect on where a page/site places in the Yahoo SERPs. I believe Yahoo.

bille agrees: good advice. don't know why people give the $300.

Same issue for me. First page in Google for many popular/competative terms. Indexed in Yahoo!, but nowhere good in the SERPS.

Is there an existing thread that talks about what Yahoo likes and doesn't like in terms of keyword optimization, backlinks, anchor text, etc ?

Their directory has nothing to do with SERPS... I have tested it...

I'd put it down the random nature of the 'science' of Search Engines, which love to give us sleepless nights, constant worry, and nightmares

Yesterday was 3rd for a term in Yahoo, 1st Google, 2nd in Live

Today 1set Google, 1st Live, and no where in Yahoo.

Haven't made any chages at all.

As Bob Marley would say...."don't worry about a ting"

I never worry about yahoo ranking even I clearly say to my client I may not do seo for Yahoo. I only believe on Google.
But my experience says about yahoo it takes time for ranking than Google. Yahoo like keywords spamming also.
Obviously all search engines like fresh content...

Yahoo may have a weakness to Craigslist and Gumtree, so pop some links on to them, that might help a little.
