Unlike Google, Yahoo is using other algorithms to rank pages on different keywords.
Personally I'm not happy with Yahoo, because he keeps dropped pages on good positions and good websites are thrown back to nowhere and nobody finds them.
In addition, Yahoo is not capable to offer so much traffic for a keyword compared to Google.

Yahoo uses Bing search results now so this questions is a bit irrelevant.

From what I recall reading somewhere, Yahoo search in its entirety is going away.

As far as I noticed, Bing and Yahoo results in terms of keyword rankings are just very near to each other. They sometimes have the same rankings on my keyword. Try to check out yours. Anyway, I find traffic in Yahoo for my blogs but, not that big compared to Google.

yahoo and bing is more strict about site content ,yes Google have large number of Google search users as compare to other search engine ,concentrate on Google ranking.

To be honest I've heard that Yahoo focuses more on content then on backlinks. From the day that I've launched my blog and until toady, I only received traffic from Yahoo via image search so I don't even bother to learn more about keyword rankings, it doesn't worth it.

To get ranking on Yahoo here is what i did...
"Use a "keyword" meta-tag to list key words for the document. Use a distinct list of keywords that relate to the specific page on your site instead of using one broad set of keywords for every page."
