Thanks flsprojects1.

Do you have any idea why such drastic drop in the link? Does Yahoo have any logic behind this drop?

I didn't know you could suddenly have a decrease in backlinks unless people stopped pointing their links to you

I not sure if you engage link building service which I encountered before. There is this company came to us say that they providing monthly link building service to help to increase your website ranking, they claimed that they owned 11-12,000 of private website with their partner, and the methodology is to submit 4-5 anchor text back link to your site daily and you can see if your ranking is moving up. I asked him what happen if I stop paying monthly services? He answered, If your stop paying monthly fees, they will properly remove those links manually and stop pointing to your site. This is for sure black-hat SEO methodology and the best thing is they never show you the 12,000 of private website URLs.

This could be due to similar case for you? I just guess only.

Just be aware of people provide such services to layman website owner.

IMO the drop in back links can be due to that your most of the back links got devalued

Regards

Backlink drop

Could simple be a case of another site going off line so you've lost all those backlinks.
