Do Articles Work for Yahoo?

I have a relatively new website www.smarterfranchise.com and I have written and submitted a couple of articles.

When I search for one of the articles, I get about 300 results in Yahoo, but when I check my back links only one or two of the article sites show up.

So, my question: does writing and distributing articles really help you build links?

Thanks

it takes time for bots to crawl, and then more time for them to fully update.

That said: "an article" is merely another form of website content... does Yahoo index website content?

If the answer is "yes" - that then would include articles.

distinctseo disagrees: articles do help yes. yahoo of course.

I would split your question into two parts.

Running article directory on your site works great. So, writing and posting articles on your site is great.

Distributing articles or article submission marketing also work with Yahoo, but much better with Google and MSN because these two search engines are much faster on indexing new materials from news sources (big article directories and PR service sites).

A week ago I would have said that syndicated articles and directory submissions help in Yahoo, but as of this past Friday that doesn't appear to be the case (at least on visible backlinks) -- while I'd fully expect to see these types of links reincluded due to their importance, as of right now, they are AWOL.

hmmm, i don't think yahoo has devalued the one way article links yet. the question we should be asking is how many is too many? 10 links from the same article directory less profitable than 2?
