First, FOCUS on Google optimization and forget about Yahoo because Bing powers Yahoo search. Second, FOCUS on Google because Google, for most sites in the Western world, enjoys at least 80% of all search traffic.
Bottomline: If you have extra time to waste on chasing search engines other than Google... use that time to find more relevant backlinks or creating linkable and convertible content.

There is very less info regarding yahoo algorithm, thats why its hard to judge the algorithmic changes in yahoo. As far as my observation is concern i've observed that bing and yahoo search results as almost same.

Google PageRank also influences your ranking at Yahoo's search. As Google already provides the secondary "Web Pages" results, it wouldn't be a big surprise if parts of its algorithm were also being used to rank the primary "Web Site" results.

"Yahoo Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools" is the latest change done by yahoo. they are suppose to turn traffic to bing search engine.
