    Problem with mod_rewrite

I am running some WP blogs since the year 2004 and the permalink strukture is "optimized" to this year.

    Now the structure is

    domain.com/static-slug/category/titel.html

And so it should look like

    domain.com/title.html

I tried this RewriteRule in .htaccess, but it did not work. What is my mistake?

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule ^/static-slug/(.*)/$ /$ [R=301,L]

Well, if you are not familiar with rewrite rules, it is not recommended to write such code. Actually, You do not need to code yourself, as WordPress already have such options except no.html in the url. Log into the dashboard. Setting-> Permalinks->Post name, the url will look like this:domain.com/title/. It does not make big matter if there has .html or not.
