Angry IIS Operation must use an updatable Query !

    HEllo...Again... All
    Ok...got a Question...
if any one knows any relevant site where to post... if this is not the appropriate one..then let me know

I have Windows 200 Advanced Server installed... the problem is that when ever i try to install any Forum/Asp program which includes Data Base connection...in this case...when eever i run the setup of that program the error comes.

Object Must use an Updatable Query

and the above error comes in every program i try to use..so what the error can be ?
    waiting ...for many replies..

some things to make sure of...

are you logged in as an administrator? (you might need to be)

is the following true? The IUSR account on the web server MUST have write permissions on the database

is the database read only? (it shouldn't be)

it may not be these things, but they are possibilities

I dont use W2000, but assuming it is similar to NT, the IUSR_webservername account is an account automatically set up by the server. You would change the rights to it the same way you would change the rights to any user or user group. (which in NT was Start / Administrative Tools / User Manager for Domains)
