Freaking wonderful. Hopefully Google wont revert like it did when -in was put back online. I wouldn't be surprised if another algo change was to take place. Seems to be a trend to take a datacenter offline before they do.

quite a few people with totally dead pr on all sites with the toolbar at the moment too. Last time that happened was just before Florida.

Hi all btw. Just a flying visit to see if others here have the toolbar problem. Seems a few do

Thanks.

A few people had the problem but it's (obviously?) all related to the data centers. I only just remembered that I had my toolbar checking pr through va. Turned that off and it's fine again.

Even so with datacenters going down and a few people (myself included) watching what were fairly stable sites (even through Florida) bounce about all over the place we could be in for some more fun

It's definitaly different uyorukk. What I have noticed so far is that a datacenter is taken down. An update is started. A datacenter is turned on after the earlier stages of an update are completed. The datacenter than influences all the rest and sets an algo change in place. The update works itself out.

I wonder if the algo is let loose offline until all the datacenters are ready to "accept" the new changes?? Seemed to be that case for Florida and -in. For about a week -in ruled the datacenters.

Now if three are off line than I dont want to know what will happen as this is unimaginable at the moment.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a change soon and all three were brought back after 2 or 3 days of chaos.

If your traffic is good than why worry??? If Google wanted to filter you they would.

Not all updates are bad

Wouldn't it be messed up if Google took all datacenters down that we know of so we couldn't track an update?? Yes. Grr

I will put my money on a update. I think this could be a big one, maybe Google are making a large expansion to their index?
We are and have been hit hard by the Gbots lately. Inktomi is also on the move (this will (hopefully) be the first REAL Inktomi update in a very long time) but that is a different story.
