What i like best is they use a existing protocol. Not creating a new propetery google only. Maybe this could give trillian and icq some competition.

hmmm...i dont know if ill be using it though, ill give it a go for sure...but im a dedicated msn messenger user screw Y! IM...uses more than 4 times the system resources as msn messenger :/

- It might launch as early as tomorrow
- It's likely based on http://www.jabber.org/, an open source client that can access multiple networks, much like Trillian does
- Google is reported to be offering voice based communication through their IM client

So basicly it connects to multiple networks and has voip options. Sounds good to me as long it has a sleek interface and takes so less resources like my old trillian

I just found out about GoogleTalk early this morning on the Television news.... I was very surprized to hear about it via mainstream media, before I heard about it online.....

Trillian? I thought Trill was just a app that could be used to log on to on your accounts so you dont need 5 different messengers? Can't Trillian use the Jabber format?
