Optimizing eBay Store
Hi
I need some advice on optimizing eBay Store? I was told about one site which is actually a eBay Store. You only have one page for example: www.yoursite.com and you have images and links which on clicking will take you to eBay store. 1) Now how can we optimize a site which only has one Page. 2) How can we a get a link from other sites when we have all external links. 3) what can we do to increase traffic on the site. Please let me know as to how can i start ? Regards, KaMran - White Eagle |

No pain. No gain.
I think you already know the answer.
What you are saying is: I just make a simpel site and put no work or content on it. When it's done I want to get links and have it high in the search engines. Why would anyone link to it when it does not have anything interesting? They could link to the eBay store themself. Why would search engines put you in the rakings? It doesn't contain any unique content. So this isn't going to work. Build a real site, with real content. This way you will get links and search engines will put you in the rankining. |

If you have the standard ebay store you will get five pages on their domain plus an "about me" page. The more items you place in your store the higher up in the store index listings you will be in each category. This will pass some of ebay's PR down to your store. These pages will show in the search engines.
To optimize the pages in your store you need to know a bit about SEO and be pretty ingenious to "trick" their system to put your optimization in place. You control the second half of the title tag plus onpage design. As far as the website you are talking about, I know of no such thing. You will need to promote on your own domain and link to your store pages to pass anchor text and PR.

Kamran, unless you put some content on that domain or link to it from other sites you own (from different Class C IP ranges) you will have a very hard time achieving good rankings in google. What you are basically doing is called a doorway page and unless you are very good at SEO you will most likely not achieve very much. Still I suggest you read as much as possible in this forum and when you feel confident enough give it a try. SEO is basically trial and error and if you don't try you don't succede.
Good luck.

kamran -
perhaps try creating a seperate blog that you update daily with fresh content. use the blog as a means to 'funnel' traffic to your ebay store. do this by reviewing your products or writing something useful for your customer. make sure every post you submit has a link to the specific product you are selling. in fact, don't just make one blog, make multiples. so, if you make 10 posts a day, why not break that up into 5 blogs, with 2 posts a day each. soon you'll notice which blog gets you the most traffic and you can focus more heavily in that area. ![]()
