Same way as any online business really. Build good content, have an optimized website, contribute and gain respect in theme related newsgoups and forums, referrals, word of mouth, ppc, newsletters, article writing, public speaking, yellow pages, and if the budget allows advertising on related websites, print advertisment...

I probably use about half the above. I could do more really but I get enough work to feed the baby and keep the Mrs in the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed ;-)

i treat my existing clients very very well. and they refer similar profitable and satisfied customers.

Thats the best customer. works well too.

I think it depends on what you are selling and how much it costs.

to true RB, if you're a new company, make sure you give everything you promise (and much, much more) to your initial clients, then do the same with all other clients you get.... the good word will then spread like wildfire.

We use PPC and do quite well with it, but that's just us. A well written PPC ad will 'only' get the potential client to your website, from there its down to your website to do the selling (ore your good self if someone phones you directly)

Don't have a website or use print - totally word-of-mouth and connecting at the forums.

The residual of sharing as much knowledge as you can day in day out and "all the time" - develops credibility and trust.

What more do you need! ;)

heheheheeee!

sorry for laughing.., if it works, i say use it, and i'm sure you're doing well enough otherwise you wouldn't of made a statement like that.

Out of interest, how do your client react when you tell them you haven't got a website? (show them all you best results for other clients i suppose)

I dont think it can hurt to have a website, only help matters i would imagine

Lol I don't really have an SEO websiet either. I got lots of herbal pharmacy sites and stuff but as for advertising my SEO I don't really do much of it online. Just get high rankings on our own sites and people will message you asking how

hmmm... well when you own a pile of cookie trackers (one for each client) and you allow a potential client access... and they go and see 2K to 20K visitors/day > the question of "why don't you have a website", never comes up! ;)

Generally I show them some #1 results for some really competitive terms, and their sold. Or if they are adult customers i tell them to type in "penis enlargement pill" lol we are always #1 or #2 on that one hehe

ahhhhhhhh, thats all u had to say fathom

2-20k hits per day doesn't sound too bad

but.., how about if your client cant find your contact details for whatever reason.., by having a site your client could quickly hop along to the googsta and type 'company name +contact' .. BING! your details dispaayed on the screen.

I dont know how i'd cope sometimes if companies had no website and i couldn't quickly use google to find out specific details such as telephone, email, etc..

Is it just me, or do other people use google to locate a website, even if you know the url of the website? google is just so freakin fast, it makes sense if the url is big or hypenated.

I use a several different areas:

- a select few individual affiliates (entrepreneurs)
- traditional marketing and ad agencies (sub contracts)
- self promotion via seo, ppc and newsletters
- traditional print and direct marketing
- teleclasses and seminars

The majority of our business comes mostly from networking and word of mouth
