Trying to figure out Yahoo
I have one site which is #1
my second site seems to be stuck at #19 with 4000 bl's an won't move up no matter how many links it has. I created a 3rd site last week and it has already moved to #10 with 100 bl. What is yahoo doing ? Onpage optimization are all the same just different content. |

Maybe they just don't like your content...

it depends on your competiton. Are you getting more results back on the website that is stuck? Research your competition for BL's Key density and Anchor text. What works for one site will not always work for another! (IMO)

Yahoo is getting more complicated, but still easier than Google. Apply the same principles you'd use to rank for Google and you should do fine with Yahoo. I have noted nothing that would indicate link "repression" with Yahoo and I am diligently working hard on quite a few brand new projects right now. I do however suspect something similar to Google with regard to back link diversity. As my linking has expanded out on established sites to expand market share on some new search phrases, I have seen some serious solidity in #1 positions for primary KW phrases.
MSN is the Hussy of search engines.. LMBO! Hussy baby! Give it a couple weeks and you're in the Bills..err..ok..change as they don't have enough traffic to justify Bills..HA! (had to throw this in...lol)

I tried to optimize Google and hope Yahoo! followed suit, but to no avail. I would say about two months ago Yahoo! implemented new algo changes that have squeezed me from page one to page two and three. The good news is that I still rank very well in Google. Yahoo! is still nice to have though.
I have decided rather than following the Google first, Yahoo! and MSN later, I am now optimizing another site purely for Yahoo!. I am seeing some better results now that I optimize specifically for Yahoo! Good luck! |
