Question EARTHQUAKE UPDATE 2004 - Is Google - ALSO - showing Movement Now???

Seeing significantly different SERPs for the same searches as of several hours ago

Will this day go down in History as Update Day :

so far...
Yahoo/MSN
Google
Beta MSN
Wisenut

if they would just bring back www2 and www3 - it would be so much easier

I have seen a big change in my listings on Yahoo (and family), it seems all of a sudden after 6 months they've indexed our site. Not much of Google though.

Big changes for one of our sites, had top 10 on lots of keywords now down to 40's. Lots of indented results from search engines, shopping sites etc - very bad so far but lets see what happens long term.

My main keyword has dropped over 100 places in the last 2 days there must have been an algo change as the only explanation is its tripped a filter of some description.
BL's up by 24.
Lets hope ot setteles down again soon and i can work out what I need to change, maybe the density is too high.
I have noticed my serps in Yahoo are fantastic though?

It's a definite reindex. Fell off the map from the low 300s on one major keyword on G. Oddly enough I looked at the cache of our site and it had none of our current pages, just older ones we've de-linked but not deleted for legacy reasons.

We are seeing some drops in a variety of our phrases on various ggle data centers. Had an upwards bounce before Thanksgiving and now we are dropping. We will see. It appears large sites are moving upward. Also noticed some changes in Yahoo and MSN...though I don't watch them as closely.

Not in all cases.

Google grabbed another 5,500 pages from my site, pushing us to 55,500...but we actually lost every single ranking we had.

I'm inclined to think that this is part one of a two part algorithm update -- otherwise, I'm screwed for not ranking on even the non-competitive stuff that I was otherwise dominant in.

Question SHOCKING CHANGES - rivals last years revolution

Two possibilities

1- Several datacenters rotating - with very different Algos

2- An EarthQuake-Like Change is occurring this very hour

Cygnus, my sites are the same. Two days ago I had
a huge jump in traffic. Now my sites are down from the orginaial
traffic by 80%. Hope the switch back to that datacentre...otherwise
I'm toast.
