This is just the first step...new vbulletin, new design....there's a few new features, few old features removed.
We still have some more things we'll be working on, ie archiving older categories, writing the advertiser info page...I could go on and on...not to mention fixing all the "bugs" everyone finds....we're looking to update and add new tools as well soon...

Everyone should know that this project was a real group effort. This project took many months...we collected everyone's thoughts and ideas from the open community here....and we also had several discussions in the moderators area of seochat (sorry I couldn't talk about everything with everyone, but I felt that the admins and mods should represent the community)....then we came up with a beta version....and after several edits, the site was at the level where the admins and mods all said "Jim, it'll never be perfect, but publish it!"...so here it is...we have tried our best to give you what you wanted....I hope you are pleased.

Thank you everyone...members, admins and mods, devshed team in florida, ninjas in NY....I think you've done a great job!

Good luck with your forum make over Jim

I hope we soon see a cutting down of the usless sub forums here as suggested in this thread Get rid of useless sub forums IMO...

Less forums would make those that exist more active.

It is so hard to get a discussion going here now...

Anyway good luck with your endevours.....

Whats happened to the shout box? I actually would really like a chat option to speak to other members when on line. Somthing that could be open to everyone or closed just between two/more people. In a prominent place so people use it.

One problem is this was the RSS feed URL I have been using.
    Database Error

It now throws a database error, the last time it worked was 12/6

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

I would like to see the shoutbox come back too! It was used a lot (every day almost I think!?)

So I do think its something we should bring back, or maybe improve on, maybe have a more advanced chat box in the sidebar? I will bring it up in the mod section along with some other suggests I have just thought of, plus the below quote

We currently have 21 major tickets open for various issues found - from the database error mentioned above, to looking at Shout Box, to the speed concerns and a variety of other topics. We love your feedback. We've put hundreds of hours into getting 10 year old technology upgraded to something modern and we're going to continue to tweak it. Your patience is appreciated!

Clean and modern, I much prefer it from an aesthetic point of view, although as a relative newbie I didn't have any strong affiliations with the 'old' site as many on here. It did take me a while to log in but now I'm in I'll have a good nosey.

I just logged in after being away for a few days. I had to close the tab because I thought I was on the wrong site. lol.

But, anyway I'm really liking this new look. It's really neat and comfortable to my eyes. Great job!

I am not sure if I like it at the first glance.
The most annoying thing in this design is - TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO THE BLUE BOX. The brightest header in Bright Blue only states the date? How useful is that? Changes the world? It is followed by the light blue box that has user details? The most important thing - a users post / reply is just squeezed under this prominent blue box. You call that design? I would not approve that design if it was for my clients.
Its particularly poor when the replies are short.

The UserCP page was not so crisp when I last checked. Please pay some attention there

You have a valid point there, blue header with date, agree with you. Some points to learn here for me.

Just from color perspective, the old design gave me historic dull feeling (though I love history) not accessibility wise. But this blue gave a fresh look but you have valid points- newdelhiseo.
