Should "location" be an area where URLs are posted?

I noticed that a couple of users have gotten around the problem of not having a signature by using their URL in the "location" attribute, thus receiving links every time they post.

If this is intentional, I think it's fine, but I just want to make sure it's something that SEOChat admins are aware of.

Shows how much attentian to detail i have.

I never noticed that.

Before i had a sig i used to hide it under smilies or make it the same color text as the background or text i was writing.

Whichever way you try to stop it there will always be a way of getting round it.

What a spammer! Where's your sig link now, mick? I've searched your post and can't find it.

*Tests it out.* Do they ever actually show up as links? When trying the vBulletin code or HTML it doesn't so up as real links, but just shows the vBulletin/HTML code and the URL.

Heh, Mick, the old hyperlinked commas were easy to spot, but the letter g hides the underline quite well.

Of course I'm sure the mods have a fake link detection tool for example Firefox' Web Developer toolbar.

But yeh, smileys are quite powerful little things:
