Server Upgrade?

If you keep having all these server crashes, you might want to look at
http://www.rackshack.net/
My server has been up for 108 days and 21 minutes non stop. And this is with 24 domains and includes a vBulletin board site that get's between 800-1,000 posts a day. Not to mention that I'm using an outdated server, they've changed to better servers twice since I started using them two years ago.

I am considering moving in to rackshack.net, but I'm concerned that my linux admin skills aren't sufficient to protect the server from hackers/viruses... It's a sweet deal, though, and a great network.

I had to pay about $75.00 to have every thing restored to the way it was when I first got the server. That means I had to upload EVERYTHING again. It took about a week to get all back to normal again. The major downside was that my vBulletin Message Board back-ups were also there. Had to start all over from nothing there. So I quickly learned to download my mySQL back-ups. DSL Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Nintendo,

Rackshack is great, run 4 servers out of there for clients.

Biggest problem we've had was someone spaming from another system to drive traffic to a site he was hosting on one of the servers we host other websites on.

The only real addy in the whole spam was his web site. He was deleted, end of story.

Do I know you by another handle that starts with the letter s?

Cheers,

i have a several dedicated servers at two locations in NY.

You simply cant beat dedicated when it comes to server resources and performance.

But i pay, pay alot.

I think I might go with Rackspace. Their support packages are pretty attractive, but pricey..

they actually offered a bunch of months for free - forgot the number. they tried hard to win my co. as a client. I tried again and they screwed up again. So I went somewhere else.

Its not about the money when it comes to buying a dedicated, its about performance, service and uptime.
