New and Improved Google Dance Tool

Announcing and new and improved Google Dance Tool page.
    http://googledance.seochat.com

The changes swap some old datacenters for new ones, and fix a bug when using quotation marks around search terms.

Kudos to DigitalPoint for fixing the bugs.

    {lol} thanks...

Also added unicode support so we can see all the "funny" characters in the titles.

The stuff today was just some quick clean up.

I may (if I'm allowed) add some new features to it also...

    Thumbs up One more enhancement

More kudos to DigitalPoint for adding Unicode Support. For those using Netscape and Safari, unintelligible characters are replaced with a friendly Star and Arrow.

    Good job Digital Point!

Also, for the record, the reason it's sketchy on IE for Windows is more of a Google issue... Google isn't setting the content type or chart set on the compact results... But they are on the full results. So it does work on IE for full results. Safari and Netscape are smart enough to fall back to the root frame charset, but IE isn't.

I opened a support ticket with Google about it, because it really *is* something they should support for their international users...

Some quick updates this morning for it...

    - Unicode support was added for the output (to see the funny little characters), but support was added for the input as well... so you can use it to lookup Japanese keywords or whatever other language you wish.

    - Fixed bug when opening up a detail window directly to Google and you had the advanced preferences cookies set.

    - Changed text link to white instead of blue on blue.

    - Added support for all 85 regional Googles instead of just 5.

    - Opening window to Google takes into account the number of results you want per page when passing you off to Google directly.

The Regional option doesn't let a user select none, there is always one selected. Looks like you removed the cookie stuff to save a users options.

Thank you for working on the tool it helps, expecially for those with the Google Syndrom.

Yeah I know... the regional thing got mixed up with me working on the wrong version. And the preferences thing went away because it was broken (I didn't break it, it was always broken). But it's about to be replaced with a better way to save prefs (just a simple check-box on the form).

Does this latest update address the regional thing and the save preferences?

Good eye, you are right we just relaunched the site using a brand new CMS and it was overlooked, we will be adding it in right now.

Google Dance link once again resides on the nav menu. Sorry for the confusion.

New and improved preferences option has been added (it actually works and is a simple check-box).
