Get Rid of the Left Bottom Corner Pop up ad

the red "close" x doesn't work and it's annoying. Really makes the site look cheap. It's distracting.

Just my two pennies, i'm sure others will agree.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll pass it along.

In the meantime, once the page fully loads and you hover over the ad the red x should work - if you click on it, you won't see it again (unless you have cookies disabled).

    Hope that helps.

Not working for me. Nothing happens when I hover over it and I can't do anything with it. It takes up precious "reply" real estate on a laptop.

I fully understand the need to generate some revenue but also vote to remove this method if at all possible.

Spoke with tech and issue should be fixed. Let me know if you can't close it etc.

    Thanks again.

Chrome 10.0.648 and running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Saw the X earlier and now it's gone again.

    Hey,

I apologize for the issue with the bottom left hand ad. Jack fixed it last night and we have it confirmed as working on Internet Exploder 7 and 8 (IE 6 it may not work), as well as on FireFox.

If you still cannot close the ad with the red "X", you may need to clear your cache.

Once again, I'm sorry that the ad had some technical difficulties. We heard your complaints on the irrelevant/poor quality ads and got rid of them, replacing them via the "peak-a-boo" ad.

    Thanks.

    James

    try:

    <a style="text-decoration: none" href="#" onclick="close-ad">[X]</a>

    instead of:

    <a id="close-ad">[X]</a>
