Sometimes businesses make "Business" decisions without considering the overall impact beyond the small change that they are making. Anyone at the company that runs this forum should know that sigs are important and that they have quite a few PRO SEOs on their hands.

I think SeoChat was doing quite well anyway... As a moderator, you should try and treat this less as a business and more as a learning / education experience. Your role is to ensure that members are happy and get the guidence they need; to ensure that people don't overstep the mark - but to treat those that do with respect. You might like to take a look at Wit's history in this forum. You will learn from that experience. You need to. STOP trying to suck up to those "admin" people. They know nothing about anything. They are paid to administer. Administration has nothing to do with day-to-day life - until it's left to run rampant... tonight we can see what that does... Go back to being a moderator. Moderate. From all that I've read here and at other places, especially from former mods, it would seem this has been a heavy handed place.
There is a long history of people (quality posters) migrating out of seo chat. So many other forums out there and it is so easy to vote with your feet. My personal assessment after a lot of reading...from people wanting to go forward and people unhappy with what went on today...and in the past...that if I were running this place...I'd be far more accomdating to members, far more interactive. All you have to do is include people in the discussions...treat em with respect. You don't have to take accept every opinion...you just need to make them feel good. I suspect this place will lose a lot of quality posting for a long period of time. Dave

Pretty bold opinion since your invested time on this board is but 32 minutes and 6 posts. How would you know if things have just gotten worse and worse. Oh sorry Gr8ted3s - is that you! :-) First let's put this into perspective. DevShed has been testing different configurations and have had enormous success on other board and with implementation no one really care about [granted it wasn't an SEO board either]. In fact, Devshed [sorry to say Jon] is much like an SEO client that does what it does to benefit it's business without considering all the factor involved with their online presence. Inherently "YOU". That said: expectations were to benefit the community [as with all the other boards] - in fact - I believe they were amazingly brilliant. Cut them some slack - if you are as good as an SEO as you think you are [and I think]... if you SEO'ed this board what would you do? Benefit the community [plus yourself] or maintain the status quo - because "sig links are the answer. The aftermath that occurred here was "reactive" and on both sides. ...and only a fool would simply let hotheads prevail. Banned them... give pause... and when cooler heads are thinking rationsally - then have a meeting of the minds. Remember 9 boards - 8 went as planned. ...and if you actually believe your statement... why are you back? Cut them some slack. |

...and I do - that's why I'm still here... educating you. ...all the people that thought they lost something and didn't give a thought to learning, teaching, educating, mentoring have gone so they can gain back something that wasn't what SEOChat was. |

You just killed all outgoing links in one day. In other words: You've created a dead end on the internet... I doubt wether this strategy is succesful

I don't wish to get involved with the details of who is to blame here, I just want to know where everyone is migrating to? A new forum I assume. Maybe someone has details of this and would be willing to post it so I can start posting there now. I have nothing against seochat, but its going to be a bit boring now without the main people.

Lol I believe I remember your 'quotes'. You were the guy that always said: "Probably around 12K" right? I've seen it a couple of times and one way or the other, it was always 12K |
