Can't give out using a decent browser

As one of those people who do like webstandards I detest IE. But as it turns out, I can't give people Reputation points using Firefox... Anyone else having the same problem??

I had that when we first started rep.... turns out Norton Internet Security was blocking the connection. To give rep with that running you must either turn off the firewall or add seochat to your allowed list. Consider if a firewall might be in the way if you are not using NIS.

Jammer agrees: rep rep rep

No firewall or anything like that here. No virusscanner either, I seriously believe its some kind of a SEOchat/Firefox confrontation.

I have submitted a ticker about the problem, one of the suggestions was to change browsers.... Nahhhh, I'd rather leave SEOchat that switch back to IE...

I use Firefox almost exclusively (IE just to check compatability of new sites I may create). I give rep all the time. Make sure your Firefox is fully updated or that the popup windows aren't being blocked (you can allow them if they are).

I didn't expect anything less from you ;)

I just checked a few other computers around here (and another network just to make sure) but still no lights.. .I am fully updated, pop-up blockers switched off... Guess SEOchat just don't want me to give out rep, ah well, as long as you guys keep on giving me some every now and then I guess I don't mind

Just don't get upset because I never rep someone (like my 1 point matters )

I use firefox only (unless forced), and I have no problems giving rep.

Do you have any extensions in your firefox that might be causing the problem?

I got the rep you gave me in the test, so at least one time it worked (was that done with IE)?

I hadn't thought of that. Instead of a lack of extensions being the cause, an applied extension could be the cause.

This comp. has the SearchStatus 1.8 plugin, but I have tried the one standing next to it, which is without plugins, same props.

Conclusion
Since there are a few more around here browsing FF without problems that shouldn't be it. Still haven't got a clue what it could be...

I checked out the javascripts used by vbulletin and found the problem...

You should turn your refferer header on in order to give rep. Apearently the variables for giving rep are passed on through the url in stead of the header. Frustrating old technologies...

Conclusion
Problem solved
Tip for the makers of Vbulletin > Url-posting data is soooo 1999

Yep, HTML... that dying or dead code. It's not just 1999, html is so 1996! LOL

I had a site earlier that I had to do duplicate stuff between the HTML and the CSS because Bill's IE decided to THINK too much where Firefox displayed it right the first time.
