The wiki idea looks like it may go forward as part of the new SMA-NA (Search Engine Marketing Association of North America) group, which is still being formed. It would be better to be hosted by an impartial community, rather than any individual person/member. Plus, it will probably get a lot more people contributing too.

I think you should do it Randfish. It's a smart idea and can be indeed a community event and resource. Like most, frankly have no idea what a wiki is really about other than it has similarities to the blog concept if I understand it.

Anyway, I think something apart of a organization will be biased to members opinions. One of the benefits of controlling it...lol

So I say run with it. I liked your list and think there is more to include such as directories - valuable free directory section - and valuable paid inclusion directories.

SEO Articles related to current trends. Optimization pieces etc etc

I think it's a great idea Randfish and don't let the idea that another organization is making one so I won't. Get your off the ground first ;)

I'll contribute what I can. I have plenty of time on my hands since I don't really work for a living...lol

Cheers

I had the same idea. Already got it started with some content from a "book" I was starting to write.

Organic SEO Wiki

Feel free to add to it as you please, I'm new to wiki syntax, so I will probably be re-organizing it over the next few days, and adding both Content:, Tools:, and Terms: namespaces.

Yeah, I've been using an SEO wiki site for a while now. It's a "members only" affair (top secret, lol) but it serves as a platform for sharing information and resources with other like minded fools.

Based on the benefit I've gained from my experience, I'd say a public version (more information due to a larger contributing base) could be a useful source of help to most web site authors.

I say do it.
