Admins, Wake Up!!!
I posted a similar thread, even icetrax did. I mean this rule sucks, reporting 5 spams a day.....
Here is a moron, i can see him spamming all over the forum with one of his site. What i can do at the most, just have a look at his posts. No one else has bothered to report him as a spam, is that my problem? Spammers call me over zealous, but the thing is that i really do appreciate this forum which has become a part of my routine and i hate it when its spammed. So, can anything be done about this matter? Everyone wants this forum to be clean, but when u take the responsibility for it, there's this cliched rule.... Doesn't make sense to me. May be i am over zealous with this post, but this rule is just a hinderance when it comes to reporting spam. I am sorry, if this post sounds too crappy or something, please pardon me.

Well on the other hand, no admin wants to have dozens of emails in his/her mailbox saying "Message #1 by xxx was reported as spam", "Message #2 by xxx was reported as spam", etc etc., "Message #34 by xxx was reported as spam". One or two reports per spammer should be enough, they'll figure it out from there

I've asked for removal of the limit (or at least an increased limit) and will let you know what happens.
I don't want any more emails either but we do need your help, (especially recently it seems)** Watch out for a seperate thread about this shortly I've also added that the downside to this is the potential increase in emails, but that a limit of 1 complaint per day / per post would combat that and save us wasted time. So I've asked if that's possible.

Thanks ClickyB for carrying this information further........I know it has a downside of increasing mails in the inbox, but i guess these little pains have to be taken for the forums sake...
Anyways, we'll keep our fingers crossed and lets see what happens..... Also, just increasing a limit, may be say up to 10 will solve the purpose to quite a good level... |

Hey Jalaj,
We appreciate your concern over forum spam and also know that its becoz of active members like you, that we are able to manage the forums in a better way. Please be informed that we have escalated this matter to the admins and would soon come up with either an increased limit or no limit at all. Thanks once again and keep repoting those spam posts

Thanks a lot pro. Yeah, ClickyB has also confirmed about carrying forward the information right upto the admins. And as for reporting spams, i think every eligible member for reporting it should step forward whenever confroted with a spam post, that will help the cause better. |
