How often do you Social Post?

We post regularly to FB, Google and Twitter - 4 times a day, each time a little text and a link to a different page on our site (not product sales, but information pages).

Also every so often we throw in a "humorous" cartoon (on-subject).

How often is too often when it comes to posting? We're on every 6 hours, but should we go higher?

Just wondering what is too much, we don't want to put people off with loads and loads of posts. My feeling is we could post maybe 8 times in 24 hours but what do others do?

I never post in FB on any regular basis, in fact I rarely post at all and when I do I never slip in a link to any of my web pages.
personally I think your wasting your time unless your site is social in nature.

No, I don't think it's wasting time (even though our site isn't social) as we've seen a definite rise of visitors since we started posting.

It does matter that what time you post on social media, you have to analyze your target people for your business and their time zone, so it could definitely help you gain right traffic, and it also matter to not post frequently like every two or three hours. Keep it simple and post maximum 4 times a day after analyze your target traffic and last but not the least always create a loyalty and strong communication and relation bonding between you and your friends or followers, it will effect on your visitors.

For Facebook and G+, this is not too often, so you are good.

For Twitter you can go as often as once an hour: Twitter updates don't live long!
Everything will be ok in the end

If it's not ok, it's not the end

With Twitter you can get away with a lot of activity without your followers tiring of you. However, on Facebook in particular and to a degree Google+ 4 times a day is almost certainly too much. You need to cut down to once or twice a day max.

Do what you think your audience would like most. There isn't a set standard to follow, you should do what has your users interest in mind without bothering them too much.

    • SEOGrinder agrees : This is what I find. Don't focus on how often you tweet, focus on making tweets that get a lot of retweets and link clicks

Take note of how many posts the people answering you have... a lot of them are kinda clueless.

Anyways, you can post as often as you want. If you see yourself getting lower response rates above a certain threshold, then cut back. But if you're seeing good results, then keep it up! My friend Dan posts a lot of political stuff and I like reading it so I keep clicking through on the notifications.

Facebook - in a weak 3 to 4 post is good.
    Twitter - 2 Post in a day.
Google Plus - 3 to 4 post is good.

Notes : Time is also important factor to post on these website.

You can do 3-4 posts per day in twitter, 2 posts in Facebook and 2-3 in Google Plus. In Facebook you can don't exceed it more than two as the each post reach/engagement will be less.

For me you can post unlimited times on Twitter - especially when you have lots of things going on your wall. When it comes to FB i started with posting every post from my website (around 20-30 per day) but now only 2-3.
