Hope someone can help.

Outline: UK Mortgages website. Designed to be a information centre to explain mortgages. Hoping to encourage customers to apply online through supplying honest information about mortgages.
Currently using Adsense.

We are a small concern, with only 6 members of staff.

The site has been active for about 9 weeks and I am seeing nothing in seach engines except my url by searching for my url.
I have read a bunch of posts and have read that placing .js in a external will help, but does that explain 0 listing.
I also have my original site still running at www.ukmhl.com because it is somehow generating business through obscure misspelling of mortgage related search terms. There are no links throughs to the new site and it is on a different server.

If there is anyone out there can help with all aspects of the site I would be very grateful.

You need to get some links into your site from other sites on the same theme.

Your original site has a huge amount of hidden text which is problably how you're getting traffic for the misspellings.

Try and avoid such techniques and focus on getting links to the new site and providing good useful content on there.

Regards, S

It's a nice design, I like it. I noticed you didn't have a description meta tag, you might want to add one.

Also, being a UK site you're going to have to make a few changes because of the disability act being enforced in October. You text size doesn't change when a user selects a larger size on their browser, and your links should have title tags.

You don't seem to have any backlinks. Try and submit to as many directories as you can, using you keywords as anchor text.

The old site www.ukmhl.com is redundant now except for the self generating business. The site would not effect the new site would it?

Good point in the description. I have got them on other pages!!

I have seen plenty of advice regarding using css, but once you have used css, text resizing seems disable, how do I get around this?

How did you find out I did not have any backlinks? Would it be okay linking from the original site?

Thankyou for these tips. Do these explain why I have no listing anywhere?

So refresing to be able to talk to people in the same profession even if we are leagues apart in experience.

Cheers

Ian Hill

Your page titles should be unique to each page, e.g. 'First Time Buyer Mortgage', 'Self Certification Mortgages' etc.

Nice looking site though
