www.thebookshop.us
Hi,
I just put up this site a few weeks ago and it's my first crack at web-design & having my own domain. A general review would be nice and any suggestions on how I can make it better. I'm open to any comments or flames (please don't flame me, i'm new. that will help me improve my site and get it out there. Thanks. |

I don't want to dash your hopes, but I also think honesty is best. You are competing in a tough field here. In essence you are competing with Amazon itself. I've found that the book sites that do best are those that are melded within a niche of some sort. For example, let's say you have a niche informational site that gives tons of information about astronomy. Included in this site are books that the users can buy to get more information about astronomy. The user has a reason to come to your site - to gain all the info you have about astronomy - and then is enticed to learn more by buying a book. But with a general book site such as this - what is the incentive for coming to the site, when they could have just gone to amazon to begin with? Again, I hate dashing your hopes, but you've got a tough hill to climb with this one. Good luck though!
