Hi,
I've just put up a site a few days ago, though I've been working on it for a month or two now. It's not my first site, but it's the first one I've actually liked. However, please feel free to rip it to shreds! In a constructive way of course... The site is http://www.randomrant.co.uk Look forward to your thoughts! Baz@rr |

Thanks, Dan. Site map is a fine idea. I was a bit worried due to the nature of all the sections and subsections the navigation system was a bit vague and confusing I originally had a drop down menu at the bottom of every page, but it was already becoming pretty big and I reckoned that before long there'd be too much on it for it to be useful, so I got rid of it.
I like the site map idea though - I'll work on it. Cheers, Baz@rr |

The first thing I saw when I went to the site was a background (the bricks) which I normally hate. This may have been the first time I thought it added to the page and would be an example of how a repetetive background should be used.
As far as content - I loved the site. I loved the few rants I read (especially the Mr. T Board game). My only worry would be if it started filling up with SoandSo sux!!!!!! and that type of stuff. But from first read it wasn't like the other "rant sites" like that. I had no problems with the navigation once I got more of an idea of what the site was about. Its not like an ecommerce site where you expect certain things to be in certain places. Nice job on a site that has very funny (and well written) content. |

Thanks, Jason!
I actually just changed the background a couple of days ago from one which was all horizontal lines. It flickered like hell when you scrolled down the screen, and since some of the articles on the site are quite long the last thing I wanted was to give my visitors a migraine! I thought the bricks worked quite well with the colour scheme, so stuck them in instead. Glad you approve! As for the other comments, yes, the last thing I want is for the site to turn into one big moan-fest. The rants themselves are letters I've written to individuals or companies expressing dissatisfaction with something. The reviews and the "random" section are just things I wanted to write about. Even things which get a "bad" review (like the Mr T Board Game) I hope are done in an upbeat, amusing way. At the end of the day who really cares how good a Mr T Board Game is anyway? The fun's in the journey, not the destination. Anyway, thanks for the comments again. Incidentally, those white noise CD's of yours likely to help my constant headache. Completely by accident I found out that detuning a radio often makes it go away for a while, but I took my radio to bits for an upcoming feature on RandomRant, so can't use it any more. Still, the loss of one £5.99 radio is a small price to pay if it's going to help me construct the helmet found on this page... |

Hmmm. Coming up for me fine and I'm on my work PC so it isn't cached. Is this happening on every page of the site or just the one I posted the link to? What about just plain old http://www.randomrant.co.uk for example? If that works, try going to the Random section then choose the link to Charity Shop Tat Bag (should be the first of the three features on the page) and see if it brings it up. Let me know. Baz |

Hmm, maybe I should permanently remove all the images Wonder if anyone else is having this problem? I'll go check it on another PC. Thanks for the heads up. |

Or any of the subcategories under the home page, it seems. I've forgotten to make it a link on those pages! I'll sort that. You can still get to the home page by clicking the What's New link, though. |

Phew! You had me worried there. Almost done with the site map, incidentally. I'll stick a note in here when it's done if you'd be good enough to check it out for me and let me know your thoughts. |
