What happened???
Please help. Recently I tried to optimize my website for the keyword "weight loss". I have been checking the ww2 and ww3 servers and I am totally off the radar. I was ranked 20 for weight loss, but am atleast 700 or worse on the ww2 and ww3 servers presently. Please help me make sense of this. My website is
www.free-weight-loss-resources.com. Thanks |

I recommend removing the domain name from the top image, and placing the image in as a CSS background, then type in the text (the words wihout hyphens and .com into the area.
Using H1 tags here would help as well Also: if weight loss is the most impotant keywords they should be first e.g. <TITLE>Weight Loss : Lose Weight Fast! - Exercises | Lose Fast Diet!</TITLE> rather than <TITLE>Lose Weight Fast! - Weight Loss Exercises | Lose Fast Diet!</TITLE> |

Hello, thank you for the reply. I am not sure what you mean. The domain name at the top is simply in the graphic... It is not an actual word that Google could pick up since it is part of the image. I do have an idea though. I have recently made www.eas.com my site of the day and have linked to this site from my main index page. It is a PR 6 and they have not linked back to me. Think this could be a cause?

hmmm, the link is not the cause of your woes, although for some reason I am showing no backlinks in google (dont panic though my toolbar may be broken)
To answer your confusion with what fathom said with regards to your placing your image in a css background in lamons terms what you should do is make that area where the name free weight loss resource appears into an editable region and then resize an H1 tag with external css definition to fit appropiatly into the graphic scheme. Will give you the same result but is much easier for novice webmasters. With the css you can make the text exactly the same way as it appears in the graphic the difference being now it will become the first thing in the code that googlebot encounters and also be given an added boost from the h1 tag |

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what you mean by creating a css image. I know what you mean, but don't know how to do it. I cropped the image so that free-weight-loss-resources.com was no longer in the image. What I need to then do is actually type the text into Dreamweaver in that area in my header... This I'm assuming is where the css image/text comes into play. How do I go about doing this with Dreamweaver? Thanks.
Also, SEO Guy, I checked my backlinks on my google toolbar and have 118. Any other ideas? Brad |

Throw away dreamweaver and buy an HTML/CSS book. There is no such thing as a dreamweaver page that ranks well on Google... if there is I would like to see it. Dreamweaver has a fancy ftp thingy... thats all its good for.
