I’m no expert with google but with a little more text on the pages it will increase your keyword density and make your page more attractive to spiders and visitors.
I would remove the ">>" you have in your navigation menu, perhaps replace them with small images with keywords in there ALT tags. The "Welcome" I think would turn visitors away, after all they are going to need to trust you on guiding them though creating a computer. to increase the value of your pages, for example on the hard drive page you have the text ... "Here is a page full of cheap hard drives. " with the word "here" as the link to the following page.... Cheap hard drives maybe one of your keywords so you could rephrase the sentence like this: "Browse though our lists of cheap hard drives to find a good deal" And use the text "Cheap hard drives" as your anchor to the hard drive page? A forum could be set up to let people post help requests; this may increase visitors and add functionality to your site. I ran a quick check on a program I have which scans domain names, a professional domain name will give you more creditability from your visitors and you wont have any of them annoying ad's that free web space hosts plague there hosting with. Here are a few names that are available as of the time of this posting BuildItCheap.com / .net / .info HowToBuildAPc. net / info (the .com is taken) Some of these following sites may help you with optimisation of your site: SEO information Check for keywords and phrases How a SE spider will view your site I hope my ramblings are helpful, I myself am still new and learning and by no means a pro at this kinda stuff ;) All the best Daniel. |

Hi, I'm new but I thought I'd post
I won't talk about the google/seo aspect but here's what I felt as a human reader when visiting your site. 1. First, as a user I didn't appreciate clicking on "Cheap Computer Parts" and getting redirected to another web site (Tiger Direct). Same goes for "Cool Computer Cases". The problem is it's in the main menu under the "Guides" section and when I clicked on it, I expected to see a guide about cheap computer parts, not tiger direct's web site. I assume you're going to put affiliate links so if you're going only for profit, I guess it worked (you got me!). But as a user, I'd prefer the links to be in a seperate category in the menu other than 'Guides' 2. I didn't like the font size consistency when I clicked on the "Computer Care" section. The font size was much bigger than the rest of the site. I had to scroll a lot to read it which was annoying. 3. I think there is too much white space at the top of your site before your articles. If I was using a smaller monitor resolution, I'd have to scroll down a bit just to read the first paragraph of your pages. I'd also recommend you personalize your website such as put pictures of your OWN computer in your "My Computer" section. In fact, maybe even put them on your main index page so that your site looks less like a commercial. That's all. |

ALT Tags are extra tags that you can put in your IMG SRC Tags that will give alternate descriptions of your images for your visitors that do not have images loaded or are browsing using text-based browsers (like Lynx).
here is an example: this is how the image will show to liux / or image link is broken <IMG SRC="MyImage.gif" ALT="This is my ALT text!"> this is the code Quote:
add a < infront of the IMG text to get the full line of code.. i cant seem to display it correcly here? this line of code will display your image, and when you hover the mouse over your image you get a tool tip box with your text in it, much like if you were to hover over the Message icons when you post in this forum. Some people use there ALT tags to insert more keywords as spiders view text. Hope this clears up the use of ALT tags for you, try a search on google for them - their are many SEO guides to show you how they work if you get stuck. Build your site first of all, get all your content up and running smooth make sure all the pages are checked and ready....
Exchange links with other sites which offer the same kind of things as you do, or sites that you know there visitors are intrested in what you have to offer... then submit your site to google, chances are you have already been looked at by them if someone else has linked to your site. Here are a few URLS of some Search sites: DmoZ - Directory some say it helps ALOT if you in it AllTheWeb Scrub the web Exactseek - updated there algo recenty WhatUSeek Alexa TrueSearch are all to name a few, but the more links you have to your site the better you will do over all, this will increase your Link Popularty this is a grate tool for finding that out Link pop checker Hope it helps ;) daniel. |
