My site is 3 years old with good backlinks. I am targeting business plan(s) for google.co.uk and I wobble between #4-8 and want that #1 spot. Site has 120 regular pages and 2000 forum pages. PR5.

Can you let me know

a)any more seo I can do apart from backlinks
b)If the items I sell are set up well for a sale as sometimes sales are great - other days not

You may get more forum feedback if you site link is clickable - I was almost too lazy to type it in!

Good point about the link however seo "rules" say don't do it - but, to get reviews I'm going to add and wait for the mods

You are in a competitive market so you need to decide on one phrase per page to make the most of your optimisation.

You obviously understand that a text link gives the text value to the page it is linking to. I found one that needs sorting...
'business plans' at the bottom of this page http://www.teneric.co.uk/sample-business-plan.html goes to http://www.teneric.co.uk/. Change the link to 'business plan'. The others I looked at were fine but I've not checked ALL your other links so do a double check.

Dump URL.biz I've just discovered myself very recently that it doesn't pass on PR (unless they are sending you visitors of course, then they are worth keeping).

Something is not right with your very first 'business plans' link on your home page, this one....

Is it because you have an 's' on the end of your URL and that URL doesn't exist?

Your optimisation really is excellent, you can't do much more for yourself other than add more pages and get keyword rich text links to your site like you've been doing.

Changing your title on your home page will give you a little boost. As your home page is optimised for 'business plan', make sure the first 2 words in your title are 'business plan'.

My own personal view (and many here will disagree with me) is that your title is a bit too long. Bring it down to 6-8 words.

Yes, I did have a bad link - thanks for pointing that out.

I have tweaked my onpage just now and will see tomorrow if I have completely blown it !

In the current update I am a PR6 throughout and have 275 BLs

It's a real pain because it does nothing for my serps
