Question Site Review Please: http://www.lighthouseneworleans.com/

I would like to humbly request a review of this website: http://www.lighthouseneworleans.com/

This is the first website I have ever done on my own, so there are probably many things that would need to be changed in order to help with SEO. The pages have just started to show up Google, and the site is not featured on all of the datacenters yet.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Hello, the looks ok, a little ametuerish, but hey we'll let it slide, it's your first =)

#1. too many keywords in meta tags

meta's aren't that big of a deal anymore, even more the reason you should have less. they are just taking up space. (don't quote me on that)

#2. there are no header tags

these arent weighted as much as they used to be anyways, dont sweat it.

#3. the largest graphic on the page, located on the right, has no alternate text (alt tag) and is not a link

#4 for ease of use and for better optimizing, i would add text links to the bottom of the page

#5 i would also delete the photoshop slice comments.

Thats a brief summary, enjoy!!

ahh.....much better!!

How about some rollovers on the main navtigational menu? and some underline or color change hovers to text links?

on the "email us" link at the top, you could add this to the code:
Code:
a href="mailto:info@lighthouseneworleans.com?subject=I%20W ould%20Like%20More%20Info"

<a href="mailto:info@lighthouseneworleans.com?subject=I%20W ould%20Like%20More%20Info">Email Us</a>
( the %20 just just code for a space, it wouldnt work properly if you just had the spaces... )

Thumbs up

I think it looks nice, clean and something I would stop to read and look at.

As for the technical jargin, I will leave that to the others =) I am just looking at it from a girls cosmetic perspective.
Let me note that your graphics all look very nice and I like the flow of the header and navigation =)

Good Luck with your new site =)

Tiffany*

Post

i think its kinda nice.
very simple and clean.
like a lighthouse should be.

my only criticism would be the organization of the thumbnails in the gallery section. they need a little better order to them.

also...its a little hard to tell that the little links under the header are 'links'. you got some non-link things up there mixed in and the links dont have underlines telling you they are links.
i would relocate these to the bottom with the other links. i would make these bottom links 'underlined'.

good job.

Your site looks nice, but on the "About" page the menu has gaps in Netscape 7.x But only the about page.
