Thumbs up Site review please?

Hello to all!

I have been lurking and learning for several months and it's time to get my feet wet.

It's nice to see two fellow Canadians, fathom and seo guy, making solid contributions to the various discussions. I look for those names each time I check the forum postings.

A HUGE thanks to this forum. I have applied much of what I learned here to my site and progress is evident. I am, however, up against some very big hitters, namely pharmaceuticals and they have deep pockets. They are very willing to link to each other but my site (Alternative Health) is as poison to them as their drugs are to people.

I would appreciate having my site reviewed and especially would like to hear how I can improve my rankings. My site information is free and I want to make it available to anyone looking for information on the prostate.

The keyword(s) that get the action are "prostate cancer" and "prostate". Currently My site is ranked #29 for "prostate", mainly due to this forum, thank you, and "prostate cancer" is #349.

I'm too old to be bothered by criticism so fire away.

Alternative Prostate Treatment

Thanks for reading.

You're certainly doing ok - got a decent PR, right up there in the rankings... there's a couple of things you could do to improve though.

If the keywords you want to target are 'prostate' and 'prostate cancer' - then these need to be more prominent ('prostate' might be hard to reach the top for, but 'prostate cancer' you're well on the way to getting there).

One of the key factors is your page title - you should rearrange the wording slightly so that your important words appear first... maybe something like 'Prostate Cancer Symptoms - Alternative Prostate Treatment'.

That will give better prominance to your important words... you may lose your #1 ranking for 'Alternative Prostate Treatment' (not sure if this is a high traffic keyword? although it shouldn't drop far), but it should increase your ranking for 'Prostate Cancer' I would think.

I would also try to get 'Prostate Cancer' into your main heading on the page, and possibly work it into the regular text on the page too.

Any new links you get to your site, try and get the words 'prostate cancer' in the anchor text.

There are plenty of other little things you could do, but I wouldn't suggest doing too much at once... make a couple of changes, and take note of the results... these should give you the biggest push I would think.

Good luck - hope that helps.

Here we go again!

1- Move the CSS stuff to an external file.
2- Move the JS stuff to an external file.
3- Also the spacing tags as nbsp can be sorted by CSS, look in to that closely, cause some SEs don't like that!
4- Format the H1 tag in CSS and also include your target (not keywords) in that tag. Hope you know the diference though!
5- Use title or alt tags in your all links to have boost in the percentage of TWs (no not the Kilo Wats T A R G E T W O R D S)
6- PM me and get a free SEOd site for free (if I have the free time)

Thanks for the information.

BTW - You spelled "Kilo Wats" incorrectly. It should be Kilo Watts - that's K I L O W A T T S.
