Site Review
http://foood.v.sabren.com/ - currently a personal site with illustrations and photography.
* I did read the rules, and I do acknowledge that swear words are frowned upon. If you wish to avoid the few slips I may have made on the main page, I encourage you to simply add on a projects.php to the above url and use only that page as a reference to my questions and your opinions. At the moment this site is basically a "personal site" with a focus on simple projects, however I do wish to turn my illustrations into products, and therefore a search engine friendly site would be helpful. My only main concerns are the php includes, my titles, and non-standard meta tags i use in my header. I use php includes to retrieve a .inc file for my header (which includes meta tags, TITLE, external CSS references, and JavaScript) and another for my navigation. Will this pose any problems with any search engines? Since I am using a single universal header for all my pages, I can not individualize the document's title, which I realize may hinder my success with google (since it does not display meta description in its results). I was wondering if there was a way a PHP or JavaScript utility could possibly take *.php, remove the .php extension and simply print the * as an extension to the deault title (without using, in example, index.php?x=var). And regarding the non standard meta tags. There are two placed in the site for geourl.com, this will not interfere with search engines in any way, will it? I know this may be a lot to ask, so I understand if you wish to only tackle one of my questions, or none at all. Any other problems you see will also be warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated. |

Well I wil start of with WOW
With that said, I was going to cruse on through your photography, but it only showed the first image then it could not find the "next" image on any of the 4 listed. I would think about getting that fixed first. The meta tage you are using: most of them can get dropped I use 6 meta tags on all my pages, <meta name="robots" content="index, follow"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css"> <title> </title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <description> <keywords> Those are the most important, the rest don't help or are irrelevant, except when using javascript. And the comment tags never get looked at, and just take up space. Those are my thought for now. |

I checked each of the photography pop-ups, and they worked perfectly for me; i'm not sure why they wouldnt for you, though.
I took your advice it took cut some of the excess meta tags including the preventmssmarttags code, which no longer serves any purpose. However, I do like having the comments in my source, in case anyone is interested in my code. But will it do any (significant) harm? Thanks. |

Comment tags tags take up file space which is just a small facture in SE algarthyms.
