I've just had a quick look at 'sports supplements' and found that the density for your home page is 21.59%!! and 'sports supplements whey' is 31.25%!!!

I can understand why you've probably done this but it really isn't a good idea to have such a high density. 5-6% is a good density to have for a two word keyphrase.

I've not checked your site properly, your page looks at a glance . Get rid of some of those alt tags to bring your density down then we can help you properly

Over optimised phrases are...
sports supplements (21.59% - 528 words, phrase mentioned 57 times)
whey protein (21.21%)
supplements whey (20.83%)
protein sports (10.98%)

Hi Jane,

I suppose you can tell what key phrases i was aiming for then! Why do you think\know that youc an over-do the densitity? I thought it was "denser" the better? (as long as there was other content of course)

When you over-do density your risking the chance of your site from being indexed properly by the search engines.

Yep, 'sports supplements' looking good at 6.68%

Search analysis here...
http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/s...rts+supplements

What about making more of 'bodybuilding supplements'?http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/s...ing+supplements
(three times the traffic!!)
Your current density for 'bodybuilding supplements' is 3.60% so you could up that a bit

'body building supplements'
http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/s...ing+supplements
your current density for 'body building supplements' is next to nil.

You now need to go and get backlinks to your site with your main keyphrase as anchor text (I suspect you may change your main keyphrase from 'sports supplements' to 'bodybuilding supplements' ;)). Get as many as you can, the more the better. Google currently recognises only two backlinks...

Have patience (easier said than done). Whilst you are waiting for google to update, get more links

Good luck

Jane

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I have changed my main keyphrase to "bodybuilding supplements" now instead and kept my second phrase "sports supplements". I will aim to get as many links as i can with hopefully both of my keyphrases within...

Any other advicea\tips?

If you have quality unique content, submit to DMOZ. Dont expect to be reviewed for a while though since it will be a busy category.
